Square Kilometre Array: John advised the Commonwealth on the Australian bid for the Square Kilometre Array, a $1 billion radio astronomy telescope funded by international agencies. This work involved the negotiation of several international agreements relating to funding and intellectual property, and advising on the construction of a $200 million precursor telescope facility.
ACT Large Scale Solar and Wind Energy Schemes: John served as the lead legal advisor to the ACT Government on its Large-scale Solar and Wind Energy Schemes, advising on legislation development, the drafting and negotiation of a range of complex contractual, financial and legislative instruments, and the application of the National Electricity Law.
